National Societies Best Papers

National Societies Best Paper

Each year, the National Societies represented by a SECEC National Delegate (official list available here) are invited to submit a paper they nationally recognised during the year.

All applications are reviewed by the SECEC Research Committee.

The 5 top-ranked papers are selected for an oral presentation in the National Societies' session at the SECEC annual congress. The Membership committee selects the best of the 5 oral presentations and announces the winner at the end of the session. The winner receives a free registration for the Annual Congress the following year.

The next highest-rated papers will be exhibited as posters in a dedicated area.

Only one paper per country may be presented.

Applications open (deadline 6 March 2026)

The paper should:

  • be supported by the current SECEC National Delegate for the country (official list available here)
  • be an original abstract
  • have been recognised at the national level (as "Best Paper" for example) in the past 12 months
  • not have otherwise been accepted for oral presentation at the SECEC congress
  • be submitted in English
