What is SECEC PJI Study?
The SECEC Shoulder Prosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) study was initiated by the SECEC PJI group and the first patients were included early 2024.
This initiative currently includes contributions from 17 centres across 12 countries (Italy, Denmark, Spain, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Ireland, Hungary, Belgium, Turkey, and Great Britain), with over 230 patients enrolled. This represents the largest database currently available on shoulder PJI in Europe.
We intend to include:
- Retrospective cases treated as a PJI
- Prospective cases suspected as a PJI (revisions, samples taken and treated as an infection until the final result of cultures is obtained). Negative cultures are also added to the database, and the case can be closed if necessary).
Our goal is now to continue expanding the study to new centres.
Why participate?
- enjoy a dedicated userfriendly online tool to collect your data
- compare your results anonymously with other centers
- get a chance to publish your national findings (with SECEC approval)
