Support Committee Travelling Fellowship 2026

In 2026, the SECEC Support Committee is offering a 3-step fellowship in Europe hosted in SECEC Education Centres, just after the SECEC congress in Barcelona.



What does it consist in

  • Visits to 3 SECEC Education Centers
  • Travel within Europe
  • Accommodation
  • 2 weeks in September

In addition, the two selected candidates will be invited to the SECEC Annual Congress:

  • Registration
  • SECEC Party

Who can apply

SECEC Full members with membership in order

  • under 45 years old
  • live in an Emerging and Developing European country as defined by the IMF (Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye, Ukraine)
  • orthopaedic surgeons, with well-documented experience in patient care and scientific research
  • with fluent English

Among the applicants, 2 fellows will be selected for this travelling fellowship.


Organisation

The support committee fellowship is fully organised by SECEC, in charge of :

  • selecting the two fellows among the applicants
  • scheduling the visits in the 3 Education Centers (dates and itineraries are not changeable).
  • booking travel and accommodation (according to its travel policy)
  • refunding expenses (with the kind support of one or more sponsors – confirmation pending).

Fellows are expected to participate in the travelling Fellowship in a position of learning and must demonstrate an open-minded behaviour.

On their return, fellows are asked to prepare a detailed travel report. They are invited to present it briefly at the forthcoming SECEC annual congress.

  • overall experience and motivation,
  • shoulder and elbow focused publications and presentations,
  • SECEC involvement.
